Mutya Buena Reveals Postnatal Depression Led to Sugababes Exit

Must read

Sugababes member Mutya Buena disclosed that postnatal depression played a role in her decision to leave the popular band. The 40-year-old singer departed the group in late 2005 after giving birth to her daughter Tahlia-May, and was subsequently replaced by Amelle Berrabah.

However, Mutya later reunited with Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy to embark on tours and create new music together. In a recent interview, Mutya discussed her departure from the group, revealing that she would have stayed if she had been able to take a brief break from work.

During a conversation with Glamour UK, Keisha reflected on the challenges the group faced over the years, emphasizing the perseverance needed to overcome obstacles and the importance of timing in their journey.

The Sugababes acknowledged facing hurdles during their comeback without the use of their iconic band name earlier this year. The original members shocked fans in 2011 by reuniting for the first time since Donaghy’s departure in 2011.

After Keisha left the group in 2009, the original members regrouped under the name MKS, staging successful performances and releasing new music. In 2019, the band regained the legal rights to their name, leading to a resurgence in popularity.

Discussing their comeback in an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Siobhan praised the legacy of the iconic girl group, noting the pressure and motivation that come with maintaining their reputation and creating new music.

The members expressed their desire to continue where they left off and give back to their loyal fans, highlighting the importance of providing a different and fulfilling conclusion for their supporters.
