The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has decided not to penalize Fallon Sherrock for her behavior during her recent match against Dave Chisnall at the World Championship. Sherrock humorously imitated an incident involving a drinks table that her former partner, Cameron Menzies, was involved in earlier.
Menzies, who was left injured after venting his frustration on a table following a loss, previously dated Sherrock for four years before their amicable split. PDC’s chief executive, Matt Porter, emphasized support for Menzies, acknowledging the importance of player health and well-being.
Both Sherrock and Menzies were eliminated in the first round of the championship. Sherrock struggled with her doubles against Chisnall, resulting in a 3-0 defeat. Meanwhile, Menzies, the 26th seed, lost 3-2 to Charlie Manby after leading in the match.
Menzies revealed personal challenges, including the recent passing of his uncle, which impacted his performance on stage. He expressed regret for his actions and acknowledged the significance of sportsmanship.
Chisnall, after defeating Sherrock, acknowledged her strong performance despite missing crucial doubles. He advanced to face Ricardo Pietreczko in the next round. The championship continues with seeded players Josh Rock and Nathan Aspinall competing on Friday.
Young talent Beau Greaves will also debut in the championship against Daryl Gurney, setting up a potential clash with Callan Rydz in the next round. The World Darts Championship promises exciting matchups, with defending champion Luke Littler facing tough competition from contenders like Luke Humphries.
