Comedian Michael McIntyre recently shared an amusingly passive-aggressive strategy he used to address noisy neighbors disturbing his peace at his £10 million residence in Hampstead, North London. Instead of direct confrontation, the 49-year-old humorist opted for a subtler approach to maintain tranquility. Speaking to fans at a warm-up gig for his upcoming Hello America! tour at Soho Theatre, McIntyre revealed a playful tactic he employed when his neighbors played loud music in the garden. He decided to play the same song they were playing, slightly offset in timing, to humorously annoy them, a move he found effective.
Acknowledging the incident with humor, McIntyre highlighted the British tendency to handle situations without direct confrontation, evoking laughter from the audience. Amidst his preparations for the US tour, which includes popular shows like The Wheel and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, the comedian also focused on his health following medical advice about his weight.
Recently, McIntyre disclosed his use of the weight-loss medication Mounjaro after learning that his weight of 15st 10lbs categorized him as “obese.” With encouragement from his wife, Kitty, he began using Mounjaro, originally designed as a food suppressant for individuals with diabetes. The medication, scientifically known as tirzepatide, aids in managing blood sugar levels and enhancing feelings of fullness, leading McIntyre to witness positive changes in just three weeks.
The comedian’s weight management journey stemmed from his habit of consuming the leftovers his family declined to finish. This endeavor is not McIntyre’s first attempt at weight control, as in 2017, he spent a significant amount at the Mayr Clinic in Austria for a detox program that resulted in weight loss but also brought emotional challenges.
Reflecting on his experiences, McIntyre humorously mentioned being advised against eating apples during his weight-loss efforts, emphasizing the quirky aspects of his health journey.
