Dani Dyer has shared the heartbreaking revelation of experiencing a private miscarriage for the first time. The Love Island personality disclosed that the ordeal occurred in an early pregnancy with her former partner Sammy Kimmence before the birth of their son Santiago.
Following her appearance on Love Island in 2018, Dani entered a relationship with Sammy, who was later imprisoned for defrauding elderly individuals of substantial sums in 2021, leading to their separation. Despite the challenges, the couple welcomed their son Santiago together. Dani confessed that her subsequent pregnancy with Santiago was fraught with anxiety due to a previous miscarriage.
In a candid discussion on Jamie Laing’s Great Company podcast, Dani described the earlier miscarriage as “very early.” She recounted the anxiety-ridden period of her subsequent pregnancy, constantly seeking reassurance through numerous scans. Reflecting on her journey to motherhood, Dani revealed that while her first pregnancy with Santi was unplanned, the prior miscarriage fueled her desire to become a parent.
Dani, who gave birth to Santiago in January 2021 at the age of 24, parted ways with Sammy after he received a 42-month prison sentence. Despite the upheaval, Dani expressed that the experience contributed to her growth as a mother. She has since tied the knot with footballer Jarrod Bowen, with whom she shares twin daughters, Summer and Star, while Jarrod also embraces the role of stepfather to Santiago.
Acknowledging the complexities of her past decisions, Dani admitted that returning to Sammy post-Love Island breakup was possibly influenced by familiarity and youthful impulsiveness. She emphasized that every choice shapes one’s destined path, leading to personal growth and lessons learned.
Dani highlighted her current contentment with Jarrod Bowen, whom she married earlier this year. Describing Jarrod as her “rock,” Dani expressed joy in navigating the chaotic yet fulfilling family life with their three children.
While an ankle injury forced Dani to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing 2025, she remained a supportive presence for fellow contestants during Icons Week. Despite this setback, Dani is anticipated to return to the dance floor in the following year’s competition, as confirmed by fellow participant Vicky Pattison.
