An individual known as the “human Barbie” on social media was discovered deceased and partially unclothed at the residence of a public official. Barbara Jankavski Marquez, aged 31, was found dead under alarming circumstances after the public defender, aged 51, informed authorities that he had engaged her for “sexual services” the previous evening. The official, residing at the location where the deceased influencer was located on Sunday, alleged that they had consumed drugs together. The influencer began coughing persistently and eventually fell asleep as they watched television in the Lapa district of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The official stated that he attempted to revive her for approximately nine minutes upon realizing she had ceased moving before contacting emergency services. Medical responders declared the influencer deceased around 9 pm, after discovering her lying on her back in only underwear, with an injury to her left eye and marks on her back.
A female acquaintance of the public defender, aged 43, mentioned that she had been at the residence earlier that day but was not present at the time of the influencer’s death. She recounted witnessing the influencer slip and fall around 4 am, resulting in an eye injury.
Law enforcement disclosed that the incident was classified as a suspicious death and indicated that they are awaiting forensic and toxicology reports to determine the cause of death. Both witnesses are expected to be summoned for further interrogation, and the influencer’s family members will be interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Barbara, who was known online as “Boneca Desumana” (‘Inhuman Doll’), had amassed over 344,000 followers on TikTok and 55,000 on Instagram, where she documented her extensive cosmetic surgery journey. She underwent a series of 27 plastic surgeries costing more than £43,000 (BRL 300,000), including various extreme procedures like liposuction on the neck, abdomen, and legs, breast and buttock augmentations, eyebrow lifts, and five rhinoplasties to achieve a doll-like appearance.
This incident follows the tragic death of another influencer, Yoon Ji-ah, who was believed to have been brutally murdered just 30 minutes after a live stream by a VIP supporter. Yoon Ji-ah was assaulted and strangled to death, and her body was discovered in a suitcase in the mountains. She had been filming in Yeongjong Island, Incheon, South Korea, approximately three hours away from where her body was eventually found. An autopsy report determined that her cause of death was asphyxiation due to neck compression.
