“Giant Pumpkin Disqualified Over Tiny Flaw at Pumpkinfest”

Must read

A massive pumpkin weighing 1,711 pounds grown by Jeff Warner from Englehart, Ontario, nearly clinched the top spot at Pumpkinfest in Port Elgin. Unfortunately, Warner was disqualified from the competition due to a small soft spot on the pumpkin, violating the event’s strict entry regulations.

Despite knowing the risk, Warner decided to transport his giant pumpkin to the fair, hoping for a chance to compete. The soft spot, equivalent in size to a loonie coin, ultimately led to his disqualification. Warner attempted to salvage the situation by scraping the spot to prevent further deterioration during his nine-hour journey to the festival. However, the hole continued to expand with each stop, leading to his disqualification upon arrival.

Although disappointed, Warner accepted the decision, acknowledging the importance of adhering to the competition rules. The winning pumpkin weighed 1,542 pounds, significantly lighter than Warner’s colossal entry. Despite missing out on the top prize, Warner remains proud of his dedication and effort in cultivating such a massive pumpkin.

While his pumpkin did not secure victory, it continues to attract attention from visitors who stop by to admire and take photos with it. Warner plans to repurpose his giant pumpkin by feeding it to polar bears in a polar habitat located a few hours north of his location.
