Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed her frustration at receiving unsolicited beauty advice, sharing her experience on Instagram. Frederiksen, who recently returned from Ukraine where she encountered air raid sirens amid the ongoing conflict, revealed that she received messages critiquing her appearance, including comments about her teeth, hair, and a perceived flaw on her nose, along with suggestions for Botox.
In response to a plastic surgeon’s offer to “fix” her nose, Frederiksen posted a screenshot of the message without revealing the sender and stated that she is content with her body, dismissing the unsolicited advice. As the second female prime minister of Denmark and currently serving her third term, Frederiksen is one of Europe’s longest-tenured leaders, having held office since mid-2019.
She has taken a firm stance against U.S. President Donald Trump’s interests in Greenland, a Danish territory, and has shown support for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. Frederiksen emphasized on Instagram that she does not judge others based on their appearance and encouraged meaningful conversations rather than focusing on superficial aspects like her nose.
The prime minister described feeling “indignant” about the unsolicited beauty remarks and sent a message of support to those who deal with societal pressures regarding physical appearance. Frederiksen urged individuals to engage in conversations that matter, rather than commenting on her looks.
