“Drone Disruptions Ground Flights at European Airports”

Must read

Flight operations at a European airport have been halted due to unexplained drone activity in the vicinity, marking the third such occurrence within a span of two days.

A representative for Vilnius Airport in Lithuania disclosed that airspace restrictions were put in place following the detection of a drone within the airport’s perimeter.

Similarly, yesterday, two major international airports in Belgium faced disruptions as a result of drone sightings, leading to the suspension of operations. Brussels Airport, one of the affected airports, announced that all incoming and outgoing flights were halted due to drone presence in the airport’s vicinity.

An update later confirmed that the incident had caused delays, flight cancellations, and the potential for continued disruptions into the following day.

Authorities also temporarily suspended air traffic at Charleroi, Brussels’ second-largest airport, as a precautionary measure. Initially, flights were redirected to Liege airport, which later had to cease operations due to suspected drone activity.
