Authorities described the blaze as an “embrasement generalise,” a term in French firefighting indicating a violent ignition due to combustible gases. Victims suffered severe burns and smoke inhalation, necessitating urgent medical attention across various hospitals in Switzerland.

In response to the incident, King Charles III expressed deep sadness over the tragedy, conveying condolences to those affected. The monarch commended the emergency responders and offered heartfelt prayers for the victims and their families affected by the catastrophic event.
