“Football Legend Gascoigne Opens Up About Bulimia Battle”

Must read

Paul Gascoigne recently shared details about his long-standing battle with bulimia, which started when he was only 17 years old. Despite facing numerous injuries throughout his career, Gascoigne remains committed to staying in shape. His most recent injury occurred during a fishing trip earlier this year, resulting in a broken left knee cap that required him to wear a brace.

In a recent interview promoting his new book ‘Eight’, Gascoigne expressed his determination to maintain his fitness despite undergoing multiple surgeries to repair his body. He recounted undergoing 38 operations, with one of the most severe injuries being a cruciate ligament injury to his left knee during the 1991 FA Cup final. Additionally, he revealed his struggles with alcoholism, including a harrowing incident during a rehab stint in Arizona in 2013.

Gascoigne’s injury woes have been a recurring theme in his life, including a shoulder injury sustained while attempting to retrieve a coconut from a palm tree during the Italian version of ‘I’m a Celebrity’. Notably, he had to be airlifted off the coast of Honduras during the show. His humorous anecdote about a hernia incident during his time at Tottenham added a lighter note to his injury-plagued career.

Gascoigne’s resilience in the face of numerous setbacks and injuries, both on and off the field, continues to define his journey. Despite the challenges, he remains determined to stay active and share his story with the world through his new book ‘Eight’.
