The second season of the Canadian hockey drama, “Heated Rivalry,” is adding more talent to its cast. The show, produced by Bell Media’s Crave streaming service, gained global popularity in its first season and helped elevate the careers of lead actors Hudson Williams, Connor Storrie, and François Arnaud.
Recently, the show announced new cast members for the upcoming season. They include Milla Jovovich, known for her roles in the “Resident Evil” franchise and “The Fifth Element,” Kevin Zegers from “Gossip Girl” and “Transamerica,” and Paul Gross, recognized for his work in “Due South” and “Men With Brooms.”
Based on the “Game Changers” book series by Nova Scotia author Rachel Reid, “Heated Rivalry” follows the love story between two rival hockey players, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. Paul Gross will portray hockey league commissioner Roger Crowell, Kevin Zegers as Coach Wiebe, and Milla Jovovich as Dr. Galina Molchalina.
The new season will also feature Canadian talents such as Charlie Gillespie, Daniel Diemer, Emily Hampshire from “Schitt’s Creek,” and Priyanka from “Canada’s Drag Race.”
Emily Hampshire expressed her excitement about joining the show, highlighting the impact and success of “Heated Rivalry.” Despite its popularity, the series is not eligible for this year’s Primetime Emmys but dominated the Canadian Screen Awards, winning 13 awards. The shooting for the second season has already started and is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2027 on Crave.
