Must read

A widespread internet disruption caused by issues with Microsoft’s cloud service provider is impacting various companies and services. Users began reporting problems accessing cloud-connected services, websites, and apps around 3:30 pm in the UK. Affected platforms include Microsoft365, Xbox, Outlook, Starbucks, Costco, and Kroger, among others.

This outage follows a recent global disruption linked to Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS, a key infrastructure provider for numerous digital platforms, is encountering issues once again, leading to service disruptions across multiple online services. Notably, Microsoft’s Azure is also affected this time.

Microsoft has acknowledged the issues, stating that users may experience difficulties accessing Office 365, Minecraft, and other services due to problems with its global content delivery network services. The company is actively investigating and working to address the access issues, particularly related to its Azure Front Door service.

The simultaneous outages of AWS and Azure are concerning as these two companies play significant roles in hosting a wide range of internet services, from retail and entertainment to business operations and cloud storage. Users have taken to social media to express frustration over the situation, highlighting the impact of such disruptions on internet-dependent activities.
