A man convicted of murder after orchestrating the killing of a 17-year-old girl who reported him to the police has been found guilty. Lenard White, 37, was reported by Isabella Scavelli and her mother, La Shawn Pope, for sexually assaulting the teenager. Tragically, Isabella was shot dead at her home just one day after reporting the incident. The attack was carried out by Sheldon Robinson, whose identification led to White’s arrest.
White has been convicted of a range of charges, including murder and murder for hire, by a federal jury in Florida. The tragic victim, Isabella, a high school junior involved in various school activities, was shot in the back while attempting to flee for help. Her mother, La Shawn, was also injured in the attack and witnessed her daughter’s death.
Following the incident, La Shawn was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The authorities quickly identified Robinson and White as suspects, and the murder weapon was later recovered from Robinson’s backyard. Both men were found guilty of multiple charges and are facing the possibility of life imprisonment. They are scheduled to be sentenced on January 30, 2026.
