A rare and severe tornado has devastated the village of Pomas in southern France, causing injuries to numerous individuals and extensive damage to over 300 residences. Fortunately, no individuals are currently reported missing following the disaster.

As of Tuesday morning, the Aude prefecture confirmed that 1,400 households in the area were still without electricity. The tornado was captured swirling over the village of Verzeille, located just a few kilometers east of Pomas, late Monday. In Pomas, a man is seen amidst the debris of a damaged house, while the Saint Julien et Sainte Basilisse church shows signs of devastation with a collapsed roof. Fallen trees in a cemetery and individuals covering damaged building roofs with tarps also depict the aftermath of the tornado.

Pedestrians navigating the area near damaged homes in Pomas are confronted with the sight of a toppled tree, emphasizing the scale of destruction caused by the natural disaster.
