“SeatGeek Canada Hit with More Fines in Ticket Resale Crackdown”

Must read

SeatGeek Canada has been slapped with two additional fines by the Ontario government for allegedly violating a recent law that restricts the resale of event tickets above face value. According to the province’s consumer protection website, the newly imposed fines on the ticket reselling platform amount to a combined total of $22,500, with one fine of $15,000 for purportedly offering a ticket for sale above the resale price limit and another fine of $7,500 for allegedly failing to disclose the full ticket price when purchased from a primary seller. Both SeatGeek Canada and the province have not yet addressed inquiries regarding the specific events linked to the fines or whether the company intends to contest the penalties. Earlier in August, the province had already levied $25,000 in fines against SeatGeek Canada for similar infractions.
