A young girl has gone missing from a remote village in Devon after she was last spotted entering a vehicle on Halloween.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen her to come forward, expressing growing concern for Rosie, who disappeared after getting into a Vauxhall Astra five days ago. The teenager has connections to the Taunton and Bridgwater regions and was last sighted in Holcombe Rogus, a secluded village in Devon, just before 5 pm. Avon and Somerset Police have initiated an urgent search for the schoolgirl, urging individuals with any information on her whereabouts to contact them.

Described as white, Rosie is approximately 5ft2 inches tall with straight brown hair.

Avon and Somerset Police issued a statement: “Can you help us locate missing Rosie, 15, who was last seen entering a blue Vauxhall Astra in Holcombe Rogus around 4.45 pm on Friday, October 31? We are increasingly concerned for her safety. If you have any information on Rosie’s location, please dial 999 and reference 5225308184.”

Concerned members of the public have expressed worry for the 15-year-old, whose missing persons appeal is circulating in local Facebook groups. One user remarked, “I hope she returns home safely to her family soon,” while another commented, “I hope she is found soon or goes to a police station herself.” Another individual stated, “Please come home safely.”

Holcombe Rogus is recognized as a tranquil and rural community in Devon with a small, close-knit neighborhood. Situated near the Somerset border in the Mid Devon council area, the town is in proximity to other parishes like Burlescombe and Hockworthy. The vicinity boasts rural farmland, the Grand Western Canal, and the Blackdown Hills.

The town is approximately a 35-minute drive from Taunton and about 50 minutes from Bridgewater, regions where Rosie has known connections.

According to a 2001 census, the parish’s population was recorded at 503.
