Satterley had participated in a televised match the night before against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago.
Recognized for his innovative high-flying maneuvers and exceptional in-ring skills, Satterley, who held multiple AEW Championships, was praised for his notable contributions to the wrestling industry. Born in Newcastle, England, he commenced his wrestling journey in 2004 in the U.K., eventually making a name for himself in various independent wrestling circuits globally, including Japan and Mexico.
Transitioning to World Wrestling Entertainment from 2012 to 2018 as Adrian Neville, he played a significant role in the NXT developmental program and the cruiserweight division. Joining AEW in its founding year of 2019, Satterley competed against and alongside the company’s top talents, securing several titles, notably the inaugural international championship.
Known for his signature move, the black arrow, a dynamic corkscrew dive from the top rope, Satterley earned the moniker “The man that gravity forgot.” Throughout his wrestling career, he predominantly portrayed a villainous persona in the ring, often referred to as “The Bastard.”

Satterley’s untimely death follows the recent passing of another AEW wrestler, Andy Williams, also known as The Butcher, who tragically collapsed during an independent wrestling event in September. Williams, aged 48, was not only a wrestler but also a guitarist for the band Every Time I Die. Satterley shared a photo of himself and Williams on social media just days before his passing.
