London police have announced that a local massage therapist has been charged with sexual assault, and authorities suspect there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. The investigation began following reports received on July 30 from an alleged victim who claimed to have been sexually assaulted during a scheduled treatment session the previous day. Subsequently, 47-year-old Christian Javier Gutierrez was arrested by officers.
In the course of the investigation, two more individuals have reported similar incidents, leading to Gutierrez facing three additional charges of sexual assault. Gutierrez voluntarily surrendered to police on Monday, made a court appearance in London on Wednesday, and was released pending a future court date in August related to the accusations.
The accused runs a massage therapy business in the downtown area, according to law enforcement authorities, who have informed the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario about the situation. Investigators suspect that there could be more unidentified victims who have yet to come forward. Anyone with relevant information or who may have had interactions with the suspect in similar circumstances is urged to reach out to London police.
