Vladimir Guerrero Jr., star player for the Toronto Blue Jays, has been cleared to play after coming off the seven-day injured list. He will join the team for their upcoming game against the New York Yankees. Guerrero sustained an injury during a recent match against the Yankees when he collided with George Lombard Jr., a rookie shortstop, during a play at third base. Despite the impact to his head from Lombard’s knee and thigh, Guerrero managed to score a crucial run before leaving the game. After passing all necessary concussion tests and participating in a minor league rehab game with single-A Dunedin, Guerrero returned to the Blue Jays lineup. He was slotted into the second batting position for the game following the team’s loss to the Yankees in the series opener. In a corresponding roster move, the Blue Jays sent Davis Schneider down to triple-A Buffalo. Guerrero boasts a batting average of .263 with seven home runs and 46 RBIs this season. Prior to his injury, he had a strong performance with a .310 average in his last seven games.
