Despite being a solo traveler, the cruise ship left without her, and she was later discovered dead in a secluded area after a search effort.
Reports indicate that Ms. Rees sustained severe injuries from a fall during a hike on the island. An investigation is now in progress to determine the circumstances surrounding her absence from reboarding the ship, including allegations of a lack of passenger count before the vessel’s departure.
Katherine Rees, the daughter of Ms. Rees, has criticized Coral Expeditions for what she perceives as a neglectful act.
