A peaceful outing in Siberia turned tragic for 19-year-old Olga Moskalyova when she was fatally attacked by a bear while walking by the river with her stepfather, Igor Tsyganenkov. During the horrifying incident, Olga was on the phone with her mother, Tatiana, who heard the chilling details unfold as a group of wild bears approached them.
The attack began with the bear targeting Igor, followed by the mother bear chasing Olga for 70 yards before catching her leg. Despite the brutal assault, Olga managed to call her mother multiple times for help, expressing her agony as the bear attacked her.
Initially thinking it was a prank, Tatiana soon realized the severity of the situation upon hearing the bear’s growls and gnawing sounds in the background. Despite the terrifying circumstances, Olga continued to call her mother until her final heartbreaking words, expressing her love and asking for forgiveness.
After the tragic incident, Tatiana contacted the authorities, leading to six hunters being dispatched to track down and eliminate the bears. Shockingly, the hunters found the bears still consuming Olga’s lifeless body at the scene. Olga, described as a cheerful and kind-hearted young woman, was laid to rest alongside her stepfather, who also lost his life in the attack.
The incident sheds light on the increasing frequency of bear attacks in Russia, particularly in areas where wildlife encroaches on human territory in search of food. Despite the devastating loss, Olga’s memory lives on through her mother’s recollections of her vibrant personality and promising future.
