An altercation between a mother and her son took a tragic turn as the young boy fatally stabbed his own parent. The nine-year-old child attacked his 37-year-old mother following a dispute over his behavior, as reported by the authorities.
Eyewitnesses recounted the heartbreaking moment when the mother, Caline Arruda dos Santos, asked for a final hug from her son after he committed the fatal stabbing. Prior to the violent incident, Caline had reportedly instructed her son to stop playing outside.
Allegedly, the boy retrieved a knife from the kitchen, concealed it under his clothing, and then approached his mother and brother before stabbing Caline in the abdomen. In a poignant moment, she reportedly requested one last hug from her son, foreseeing her fate.
Following the attack, a neighbor rushed Caline to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. Due to his age, the boy was not detained by the police as he cannot be prosecuted by the juvenile court system. Currently, he is under the care of a relative of the victim.
In an interview, the relative mentioned that the boy seems unaware of the gravity of his actions, only learning about his mother’s death from someone else. The tragic incident occurred in Parelheiros, south of Sao Paolo, and is being investigated by the Civil Police.
This incident comes in the wake of another distressing case where a teenager, Sarah Patrick, was charged with the murders of her mother and stepfather in Georgia, US. Despite initially displaying a lack of remorse, Sarah later broke down in tears during court proceedings as she heard testimony from various individuals. She has been charged as an adult and is awaiting trial in January 2026.
