Must read

Three travelers lost their lives, while two others are currently missing following an avalanche that struck a mountain range in the Alps. The victims, a woman and two men, were tragically killed by the avalanche on the rocky slopes of Cima Vertana in the Ortles Mountain range in Italy’s South Tyrol region around 4 pm.

Efforts are ongoing to locate the two missing individuals who were part of a group of five ski mountaineers. The search operation involves the assistance of helicopter rescue services and firefighters.

The avalanche swept away a 30-year-old man and woman, along with a 50-year-old man, during their ascent, and their bodies were later recovered by rescue teams. Reports from Italian outlet Union Sarda indicate that the avalanche occurred suddenly, with two climbers being trapped under debris and sustaining minor injuries.
